The Office of Transportation (DOT) described:
Vacation on all roads and streets changed by +5.6% (+13.2 billion vehicle miles) for January 2023 as as opposed with January 2022. Vacation for the month is estimated to be 247.3 billion car miles.
The seasonally modified motor vehicle miles traveled for January 2023 is 272.5 billion miles, a 4.5% (11.6 billion automobile miles) improve above January 2022. It also signifies a 3.1% alter (8.1 billion motor vehicle miles) when compared with December 2022.

This graph shows the regular complete automobile miles driven, seasonally adjusted.
Miles pushed declined sharply in March 2020, and seriously collapsed in April 2020. Right after recovering, miles driven have been softer early in 2022 thanks to better gasoline charges but have increased given that gasoline charges are now down sharply year-more than-yr.
